Gabal: A Shaman's Journey
The story of C.J. Fischer, an indigenous Kuku Yalangi man from the remote, tropical far north of Queensland, Australia and his journey from alcoholism to being chosen by the elders to be trained as a shaman. He describes his often reluctant path towards becoming a "cleverman" of the tribe, and shares his unique family history, life story and personal beliefs. C.J. outlines how he was chosen to continue on an ancient lineage and share in the power of the elders, and how he has integrated both the dreaming lore and modern world into his unique perspective on life. He has always felt compelled to tell his story, so that as many people as possible can access the knowledge that was shared with him.
